Your Newpany:You will be working within the Cardiff region in one of their children and young people's residential settings. They have a firm belief that every child and young person, no matter their ability or situation, deserves to enjoy engaging in activities with other young people all while receiving expert care and attention. 1. Supporting children aged 6 – 18 with emotional behaviour disorder and/orplex needs in one of 7 active services in Cardiff
2. To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
3. Ensuring an inclusive and fair environment for a diversity of backgrounds/ situations/ abilities
4. Dealing with challenging behaviour from young people which could be both verbal and physical.
5. Adhering to personal care plans which have been drawn up after assessing the needs and goals of the placement
6. Adhering to strict health and safety practices to ensure the wellbeing of children and young people
7. Building rapport and empowering children and young people to reach their potential
8. Building rapport and good relationships with families
9. Produce and maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with GDPR
10. Adopting a child-centred approach to provide the best care for children and young people withplex health / emotional needs
11. Carry out elements of personal care if required
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
12. 1 year of previous experience within children’s social care
13. Child-centred approach to care
14. Positive attitude to care
15. Full UK driving licence
16. NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care is desirable, but you do have the option to work towards it.
17. Basic understanding of children’s human rights and safeguarding is essential.
18. Experience working within a multi-agency environment is desirable.
19. Self-motivation and determination to grow and succeed together
20. Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS’ desirable for swifter onboarding)
