Purchase Ledger Assistant

Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
Connexus UK is delighted to be recruiting a Purchase Ledger Assistant on behalf of our client, a fast-growing business within the renewable energy sector. With multiple trading businesses already established and further acquisitions planned this year, this is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking and ambitious organisation at a time of growth.
Based in Toome, you'll be working closely with senior leadership in a small office environment, with the flexibility of one day working from home each week. This is a role for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and looking to develop their career as the business continues to expand.
The Role
As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will play a key part in the day-to-day finance function, with a particular focus on the purchase ledger while also supporting across expenses and sales ledger activities.
Core Responsibilities include:
Purchase Ledger
* Processing invoices in Xero – uploading, coding, assigning for approval, and supporting payment runs.
* Managing the purchase ledger inbox and supplier queries.
* Chasing missing invoices and maintaining accurate records.
Credit Cards & Expenses
* Reviewing credit card spend, gathering receipts, and processing through Xero.
* Processing employee expenses efficiently.
Sales Ledger / Credit Control
* Raising invoices for smaller revenue streams.
* Supporting credit control activity, including chasing outstanding payments.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Previous purchase ledger experience (essential).
* Experience in a finance/accounts role, e.g. Accounts Assistant level.
* A good understanding of accruals and prepayments (desirable).
* Strong IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Xero (or similar accounting software).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A positive, adaptable mindset – keen to contribute to a business in growth mode.
