Production Planning Lead
Manages and optimizes the production planning process within the manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and execution of production activities to ensure efficient operations, timely delivery, and cost-effective output. The role will lead the daily production planners to ensure service levels are met while minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency. The Supply Chain planner will also forecast for upcoming product launches or promotional activities to ensure plans are in place for successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Creating and assessing long-term production plans aligned with forecasts.
* Reviewing ABC SKU rankings and safety stock targets.
* Communicating capacity data findings with manufacturing departments.
* Providing capacity data for capital expenditure budgets.
* Preparing monthly departmental management reports.
* Creating and managing detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resources.
* Collaborating with sales, purchasing, engineering, and other departments for smooth production flow.
* Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating procurement.
* Analyzing production data to identify improvements and implement strategies for efficiency, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
* Leading and mentoring production planning team members.
* Tracking KPIs and analyzing performance data.
* Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations.
* Utilizing GBS tools to promote continuous improvement culture.
Capabilities Required:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling in manufacturing.
* Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
* Expertise in production planning software.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong communication skills for collaboration with suppliers and partners.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Adaptability to changing demands and priorities.
* Flexibility to handle unexpected issues.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in coaching and developing teams.
