Locum Consultant in Community General Adult Psychiatry An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at the South Ceredigion Community Mental Health Team. Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant to join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward-looking mental health service.
Main duties of the job The successful applicant will provide clinical expertise and strategic leadership as we look to develop our mental health services to meet the population needs of Hywel Dda UHB.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health, and learning disabilities services.

Person Specification Qualifications Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
MRCPsych or FRCPsych or other
Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
Appropriate Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due within 6 months of interview date
Or CESR or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
Clinical Experience Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
Knowledge and participation in CPD
Competence in General Adult Psychiatry
Wider experience, research, and training in providing sub-specialty service
Evidence of above-average performance
Clinical Governance Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
Knowledge of risk management
Research Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence so as to improve clinical outcomes
Teaching Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and junior doctors
Organisation of further teaching programmes in medical education
Training the Trainers" experience
Management Knowledge of the management and structure of the NHS
Evidence of management training
