Overview
The 20 Month BSc (Hons) Midwifery Shortened Programme at Middlesex University aims to produce competent, caring, research and evidence-based midwives, capable of delivering effective woman‑centred care for mothers and their families. This full‑time programme commences September 2065. To attain a registered midwifery qualification.
Responsibilities
* To communicate effectively with women and their families throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages under the supervision of the Registered Midwife (Practice Supervisor/Assessor).
* To diagnose pregnancy, assess and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages through the use of a range of assessment methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive conclusions under the supervision of the Registered Midwife.
* To work towards the midwifery standards of proficiency that is contained in the Electronic Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement.
* To work towards achieving experience under supervision of the activities of the midwife as outlined in the European Union Midwives Directive (80/155/EEC Article 4) and the NMC (2019) standards of proficiencies for student midwives.
* Active Adult Nursing Registration (NMC Registration).
Qualifications
* Diploma or degree in Adult Nursing.
* Proven post registration experience.
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalencies or IELTS 7.0.
