Shifts:Permanent Day Shift (Monday to Friday - 8am - 4pm)A leading manufacturer with a strong footprint in the electronics industry is seeking askilled Process Engineerto join its high-performing production team at their Cramlington facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to take ownership of manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute directly to the site's operational excellence.The RoleReporting to the Production Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing processes within the electronics production remit. This includes maintaining optimal performance of equipment, implementing improvements across the shop floor, and ensuring the site operates at a high standard aligned with Lean and Industry 4.0 principles.Please Note -Travel to Wembley will be required initially.Key responsibilities include:Leading and optimisingSurface Mount Technology (SMT)andWave Solderingprocesses—including Screen Printing, Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, ICT, and conveyor systems.Managing the maintenance, upkeep, and performance monitoring of complex manufacturing equipment.DrivingContinuous Improvementand cost-reduction initiatives through process analysis, redesign, and capital investments.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production KPIs and maintain a safe, clean, and high-performing environment.Supporting production teams with technical guidance, training, and knowledge sharing.About YouThe successful candidate will bring3–5 years of hands-on experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with deep technical knowledge of SMT, Wave Soldering, and related systems. Strong mechanical and electrical systems understanding is essential, with additional knowledge of PLC programming and I4.0 connectivity highly desirable.
You will be confident managing financial budgets, working closely with suppliers, and influencing continuous improvement across manufacturing teams. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a proactive mindset are key for this role.Key RequirementsProven background inelectronics manufacturing, ideally within a high-mix, high-volume environmentIn-depth knowledge of SMT processes (Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, ICT) and Wave Soldering operationsFamiliarity with mechanical/electrical systems and preventative maintenance practicesExperience with Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement frameworksAbility to interpret technical data and drive performance using analytical toolsStrong communication and leadership skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and production software toolsTPBN1_UKTJ
