Overview
Apparel Product Developer (Maternity Cover) role at TieTalent. Maternity cover with potential for permanent role following the end of the maternity cover. You will work closely with the Head of Product to execute seasonal and bespoke product ranges for a diverse client base, overseeing product development from concept through to delivery, driving innovation, and contributing to strategies that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead product costing and margin analysis to develop commercially viable products that meet design integrity at the right price.
* Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from initial concept through to final delivery.
* Manage our supply base, identify gaps, and communicate any areas of concern with the ability to communicate poor performance.
* Maintain the critical path in alignment with Sales and Marketing timelines, proactively identifying and resolving delays or disruptions.
* Collaborate with the team to research market trends, explore innovations, identify opportunities, and translate into actionable development strategies.
* Attend fit sessions, provide feedback with designers, troubleshoot fit or construction issues, and highlight risks to branding applications.
* Drive supplier management and selection, ensuring partnerships align with quality, ethical and sustainability values.
* Manage product claims and testing procedures, including reviewing test reports to ensure compliance with standards across clothing, accessories and packaging.
* Advise senior team on issues and alternate solutions to meet deliverables.
* Collaborate with marketing and ecommerce teams to support product launches with accurate product specifications and promotional planning.
* Review AQL inspections and proactively resolve production issues; regularly analyze faulty products from the marketplace and take action to resolve or recall as needed.
* Stay up to date with legislation and compliance changes globally, informing internal teams of regulatory updates.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced Product Developer with a strong background in performance menswear and a technical understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, materials, and production techniques.
* In-depth knowledge of critical path management from concept to delivery with the ability to manage timelines and milestones across the supply chain.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise multiple concurrent projects to meet deadlines.
