This is a 12 month fixed term contract within the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team.
The Specialist Physiotherapist in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team is responsible for the day-to-day professional management of all aspects of Physiotherapy intervention for patients accessing services in their homes, clinics, community, or via virtual means. This includes airway clearance clinics. The postholder will contribute to achieving national accreditation in line with Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service Accreditation Standards (PRSAS).
The postholder is expected to be a positive role model and an effective leader in clinical management, patient care, communication, and quality standards. They should be a clinical specialist providing advice, support, and teaching within the organization. The role involves delivering comprehensive Physiotherapy services to patients with complex pathologies exhibiting physical, psychological, neurological, emotional, behavioral, and social problems.
Interviews are expected to be held the week commencing 2nd June 2025.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake full respiratory assessments and independently plan evidence-based, individualized treatment programmes using clinical reasoning and specialized skills such as respiratory monitoring and exercise prescription.
* Devise rehabilitation programmes based on current evidence to enhance patient performance, independence, health, and wellbeing.
* Formulate and evaluate management and treatment plans, utilizing a range of treatment skills to support self-management.
* Work towards National Accreditation of the service alongside the service lead.
* Manage own and team’s work plans, organizing clinical priorities effectively amidst changing daily demands.
* Lead the use of evidence-based practices in service delivery and ensure infrastructure supports this approach.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and evidence to inform treatment, innovatively implementing evidence-based practices within the service.
