Science Teacher – Secondary Schools

Competitive Daily Rate (Pay to scale)| Full or Part Time / Long‐Term & Short‐Term Assignments Available

Who We Are
We are an education recruitment agency specialising in placing excellent teaching talent in secondary schools. We work with schools that value innovation in teaching, scientific enquiry, and a supportive professional culture.

The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 & KS4, and for suitably experienced candidates, KS5.

Teach one or more science specialisms (Biology / Chemistry / Physics), whilst contributing to the general science curriculum.

Use assessment data to monitor pupils’ progress, intervene where needed, and adapt lessons accordingly.

Maintain high standards of behaviour, creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.

Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and school/safeguarding responsibilities.

Where applicable, lead or contribute to enrichment activities, STEM initiatives, and practical/lab work.

What We Offer

Attractive pay rates that reflect your skills, specialism, and experience.

Opportunities for long-term contracts and roles with the potential to become permanent.

A chance to make real impact: you’ll play an integral role in shaping student outcomes, scientific curiosity, and practical science work.

Supportive environments: well-resourced departments, experienced colleagues, CPD and professional growth opportunities.

Flexibility in hours / days for some roles, enabling better work-life balance.

Recognition and rewards: schools often offer additional leadership or co-ordination roles (e.g. KS3 / KS4 Lead) for those wishing to take on more responsibility.

Person Specification
You should have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent recognised qualification, plus a degree in a science subject.

Experience teaching in secondary schools (ideally across Key Stages 3 & 4; ability to teach KS5 is a plus).

Strong classroom management skills, with ability to build rapport and manage diverse learners.

Passion for science and practical, hands-on learning (labs, experiments, demonstrations).

Good communication, organisational skills, and ability to work as part of a team.

Commitment to safeguarding & professional conduct; willingness to undertake DBS and school checks.
