Description Cornwall Council are seeking a motivated and practical individual to join our maritime team as a Maritime Assistant. This is a varied, public-facing role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. During the summer season, the successful candidate will predominantly act as point of contact for the Prince of Wales Pier, providing a visible and helpful presence for harbour users and visitors. In the winter months, the role will focus on assisting with mooring maintenance and general upkeep of harbour infrastructure. You will mainly be based in Penryn and Falmouth but also undertaking maintenance duties within any of the Ports and Harbours of Truro, Penryn, Penzance, St Ives, Newquay, Bude, Portscatho, Portreath, as well as other maritime assets during the winter period. Due to the seasonal nature of the role, the post holder will be required to participate in a rota providing seven-day operational cover during the summer season. This includes working alternate weekends from April through September. The role is based on a five-day working week, with flexibility required to meet service demands.
