This is a key role responsible for forecasting, scheduling, and optimising labour resources to keep warehouse operations running smoothly and cost-effectively.

You'll play a vital part in ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time, aligning workforce availability with operational demand, particularly during peak and high-volume periods.


Job Opportunity


Core Responsibilities

Labour Forecasting & Scheduling

* Analyse historical data and forecasts to predict labour requirements, plan agency hours, and manage temporary staffing requirements.
* Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly labour plans, schedule shifts, and allocate resources to meet operational targets.

Operational Coordination

* Monitor and maximise productivity, adjusting staffing to maintain service levels, working closely with warehouse supervisors to adjust labour plans in real-time to keep labour costs within budget.
* Support warehouse management in prioritising tasks to optimise throughput.

Systems, Compliance & Reporting

* Ensure compliance with working time regulations and health & safety standards.
* Use workforce management and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track labour performance.
* Produce reports on labour utilisation, productivity, and cost metrics, and identify trends and recommend process improvements.

Essential Skills



What We're Looking For

* Proven experience in warehouse operations or labour/resource planning, as a workforce planner, or planning analyst with a background in fast-paced logistics, supply chain, or retail distribution.
* Familiarity with managing agency labour and flexible workforce models.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly and work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
* Proficiency in Excel and workforce planning tools (e.g. Kronos, Reflexis, or similar).
* Understanding of warehouse KPIs, operational workflows, UK labour law, and safety standards.
