This role offers the chance to be part of a dedicated, trauma-informed team working directly with young people with complex needs related to their life experiences and childhood adversity.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working positively and respectfully with young people to promote good relationships and achievements.
* Collaborating with a team to meet social, emotional, educational, and mental health needs.
* Encouraging participation in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
* Writing review reports, risk assessments, and contributing to care plans.
* Liaising with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people.
You will need:
* SSSC conditions for Residential Child Care Worker fully met (e.g., SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or HNC/Academic equivalent).
* Completion of SVQ 4 in Children and Young People or a practice qualification in management.
* At least 2 years of experience as a Residential Child Care Worker or related field with 1 year in childcare.
* High standards of reporting and recording.
* Experience in mentoring roles.
* Proven initiative and communication skills.
* Category or equivalent meeting SSSC requirements.
