Job description
Our client is seeking a Machine Operative to join their growing team, based in Portadown.
Responsibilities
- Machine Setup and Preparation:
- Load raw materials, such as plastic resins and additives, into the moulds;
- Set up machine parameters, including temperature, rotation speed, and cycle time, based on production requirements.
- Machine Operation:
- Operate rotational moulding machines to produce plastic products;
- Monitor machine operation to ensure that the moulding process runs smoothly and efficiently;
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to optimise production and maintain product quality;
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for defects, such as air bubbles, warping, or incomplete filling;
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications;
- Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent defects from recurring.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Clean moulds, equipment, and work areas regularly to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene standards;
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on rotational moulding machines, such as lubrication and calibration;
- Replace worn-out or damaged machine parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries;
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, while operating machinery;
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor or safety officer.
