EHV Fitters - National Grid - Contract basis (12-18 months initial period)

Our client is looking for experience and driven EHV Fitters to join its motivated team working across the Southern Network - primarily Sussex or Surrey areas.
To work as part of a team, carrying out the full range of duties associated with EHV substation installation and construction at voltages up to and including 132kV.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Installation and testing of all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
- Fault location and repair of all plant and apparatus associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network
- Supervise work undertaken by UK Power Networks contractors and Alliance Partners.
- Hold appropriate safety documents (LOA & PTW)
- Use of appropriate IT equipment
- Immediate supervision of construction / maintenance staff within their working party
The following skills and attributes are important to this role (Combinations of the below are accepted, not all tickets are required to apply): -
- City and Guilds 2399 Electrical Power Engineering
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
- Ability to problem solve in a practical way and able to work under pressure.
- Clean driving licence.
- Receive PTW and Manage Site Safety (up to 132kV)
- NG persons clearance
- EUSR SHEA Passport
- Oxy-Propane Brazing including industrial gas awareness.
- Ladder Association
- SMSTS competence preferred.
- IOSH Working safely preferred. xsngvjr
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation
