What We Are Looking For...
The Role...This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our Finance team supporting both FP&A and Central Costs.
The Finance Analyst is responsible for providing financial reporting to the business, supporting with planning cycles, and ad hoc analysis. This role is instrumental in providing clear and accurate financial information to the business, delivering plans and forecasts, and insightful analysis to influence decision making. This role plays a key part in supporting business stakeholders to make the right decisions to ensure value for money from spend.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work with numerous stakeholders across finance and the business and provides the opportunity for an exceptional candidate to influence River Island's performance through insightful reporting and analysis.
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, key responsibilities include:
* Ownership of the central areas (tech, HR, other support functions) month end process, including journal postings, variance analysis and key commentary.
* Preparation and production of periodic reporting, ensuring all reporting is accurate, fit for purpose and provides relevant insights
* Working alongside the Commercial Finance team to ensure reporting is consistent and meet the standard required of the wider team.
* Becoming a team lead on understanding finance systems, helping to manage the relationship between finance, IT and external support companies
* Streamlining processes and reporting.
* Supporting in the preparation and delivery of annual budgets and forecasting.
* Ownership of key models to support understanding of spend and to influence future decisions.
* Support in post investment appraisals.
* Preparation & analysis of department KPIs
The Person...
For this role, you will have:
* Strong communication skills and a team player
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* An affinity for systems and data with prior experience in working with large and complex data sets
* A methodical and organised approach to completing tasks
* Always looking for opportunities to make reporting and processes more efficient
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent excel and modelling skills
* Relevant accounting qualification with 0-2 years post qualified experience
* Retail experience desirable but not required.
