Wood Process and Energy is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager with Pre-FEED, FEED & EPC/ EPCm experience in O&G, Chemicals, and Petrochemical Projects a contract basis.
Hybrid Working - working from home and some days a week expected in our Glasgow/ client's office
You will be based in our Glasgow office or potentially in our client's office alongside the existing Wood/ client integrated Project Management and Engineering Teams to ensure delivery excellence across assigned projects / portfolios providing project certainty and confidence to our clients, and ensuring robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.
1. Competent at managing and leading a large multi-discipline Engineering Team
2. Experience in managing work executed out of High Value Execution Centres
3. Experienced in complex Project Scope management and contract management
4. Familiar with project work sequence, activities, and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines at any project phase with knowledge and understanding of a contract
5. Overall ownership of the engineering schedule and progress of each engineering discipline
6. Ensuring that Wood’s Quality Management Systems support deliverables preparation and method of execution
7. Able to generate and authorize key documents including those directing Engineering strategy and implementation
8. Understands and manages the Technical Engineering Disciplines and associated Scope
9. Ensures instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitates agreement between conflicting requirements and leads way forward
10. Able to challenge working method and deliverables and ensures project team know and comply with project scope
11. Develops and manages the engineering input to the project schedule and drives the Engineering Team to comply with the requirements, meet milestones and Key Performance Indicators
12. Ensures that requirements for Design Verification are identified, scheduled, and resourced
13. Understands the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSSE) issues and ensures these are handled correctly
14. Identifies risk and implements mitigations

Who we are looking for:
19. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline
20. Prior background in Technical function, and in project engineering predominately across range of projects
21. Engineering Management experience, with some site experience
22. Have extensive experience in an appropriate industry (ideally in one or more of Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power)
23. Have a proven track record in Engineering Management and leading multi-discipline engineering teams
24. Be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to manage lump sum and reimbursable work
25. Have a broad technical knowledge combined with excellent leadership skills
