The role is a dynamic leadership position responsible for creating Castore’s always-on content strategy and execution. You will take a channel-agnostic view to content ideation and tailor execution for a broad set of owned, earned, and paid channels. You will identify and capture rich content from sponsorship rights to drive brand partnerships and ensure content aligns with our narratives. You will own a content calendar, use performance data to iteratively improve outcomes, and collaborate closely with brand management, sports marketing, CRM, performance marketing, product creativity and production teams.
As our chief storyteller and an essential member of the team, you will bring a deep sports mindset, the ability to predict and respond to sports culture, and the skills to deliver compelling content across the full customer journey. You will lead PR, social, and influencer strategies, working with other marketing, product and community stakeholders to scale what works. Castore operates in a fast-paced environment where content creation and posting can span weekends; the company commits to helping you regain balance during the week.
Responsibilities
* Support the Marketing Director to lead the development of a rich content strategy that drives brand visibility, engagement, and supports conversion.
* Define what great content looks like for the Castore brand and develop a formula for content that performs and earns advocacy.
* Experiment across formats and mediums (video, social, editorial) to resonate with different audiences and channels.
* Champion storytelling excellence across touchpoints, including social, PR, emails, journals, and more.
* Demonstrate and measure the business impact of content with clear links to commercial objectives.
* Set Castore’s social strategy and maintain an active, engaging always-on presence.
* Develop and manage the Castore Influencer & Seeding programme.
* Oversee content production across proactive, reactive, and planned social content.
* Manage Social and Influencer budget and agency relationships for PR and crisis communications; set KPIs and report impact to stakeholders.
* Support internal PR & comms and community management; set the Castore tone of voice and copy guidelines.
Multi-Channel Campaigns, Content Planning, and Distribution
* Plan and deliver high-impact, multi-channel content that drives awareness, consideration, and growth.
* Build a content framework mapping messages to moments, formats, and surfaces across the customer journey.
* Ensure high-performing content is repurposed and distributed across owned, earned, and paid channels.
* Maximise content utilisation from Castore’s partners and react to key sporting moments as needed.
UGC, Talent & Advocacy
* Lead influencer and gifting strategy, building a community through UGC, testimonials, and ambassador-led storytelling.
* Build and scale a structured talent/ambassador programme empowering members to become brand champions and content creators.
* Design systems and incentives to encourage sharing of member stories.
Leadership & Team Management
* Line-manage the Content and PR Manager and Content & PR Executive; develop, inspire and motivate the team.
* Set high standards for content craft and creative ambition while supporting team development and growth.
* Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the Brand & Content function.
Brand Strategy, Partnerships & Cultural Relevance
* Identify and lead content-forward brand partnerships that enhance reach, relevance, and impact.
* Stay attuned to culture and trends to ensure content is resonant, timely, and differentiated.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute high-impact, narrative-led campaigns celebrating partnerships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agency Management
* Manage PR agencies (Consumer, Business, and Crisis PR) and the Copy agency to ensure alignment with brand tone of voice.
* Collaborate with creative and paid teams to bring content to life visually across paid and owned channels.
* Partner with Product Design, CRM, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent brand experience and storytelling around products.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience leading content teams in high-growth consumer environments.
* Deep expertise in content strategy and storytelling with a clear understanding of drivers of engagement, conversion, and loyalty.
* Experience executing full-funnel campaigns across ATL and digital channels.
* Excellent editorial and creative instincts with fluency in multichannel planning.
* Experience running talent, UGC, or ambassador programs and turning members into advocates.
* Comfortable using performance insights to evolve content strategy.
* Proven ability to produce emotionally resonant content and exercise strong creative judgement, leadership, collaboration and communication skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends; ability to work independently.
* Passion for sport; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build relationships and be a strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills; understanding of key marketing functions; willingness to travel occasionally (nationally and in Europe).
