SEN Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a welcoming primary school in Burgess Hill, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Support Worker, or those looking to start a career in education.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Work with children with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
* Assist in delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning support
* Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to implement EHCP targets
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
* Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (school or care setting desirable)
* A strong interest in SEN and inclusive education
* Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to take initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
* Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
* Experience in a primary school setting
