Hays Procurement are recruiting on an exclusive basis a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. This role is pivotal in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality materials and services. The successful candidate will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the procurement process to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company goals.
* Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
* Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
* Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil their procurement needs.
* Maintain accurate records and reports on procurement activities.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in a senior buyer or procurement role.
* Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
* Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
