Your new role Hays Procurement are recruiting on an exclusive basis a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join a specialist manufacturing business in Scunthorpe. This role is pivotal in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality materials and services. The successful candidate will lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the procurement process to support our business objectives.Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company goals. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions. Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability. Oversee the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfil their procurement needs. Maintain accurate records and reports on procurement activities. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in a senior buyer or procurement role. Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Excellent organisational and project management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. What you'll get in return Rate of £21.00 - £24.00 per hour, negotiable, depending on experience. Opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative team.
