Job Description
The main duties and responsibilities of the Fitter / Welder are outlined as follows:
* Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
* Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures always adhere.
* Review design stage mechanical drawings and P&ID in order to validate designs, familiarise with the project, and spot issues before they arise. Provide input and feedback on design in order to contribute to DfMA efficiencies.
* Work well on own initiative with a good work ethos to achieve a high production output.
* Complete tanks, sub-assemblies & small parts as required.
* Quantity and Quality of work to be of a high standard, free of defects and with attention to detail.
* Ability to problem solve, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
* Complete all test documentation and inspection and test plans (ITPs) as required.
* An ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
* Actively participate in product and process improvement by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future projects.
* Other duties as required from time to time.
* Must be neat and have good housekeeping skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role.
* Experienced in TIG welding with flat, folded, and pipe projects.
* Ability to liaise on a technical level with Engineering Department to support product improvements.
* Must have basic Weld polishing & cleaning experience.
* Ability to work as part of a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage time when given a work list, including continuous feedback to the line manager on work close-out.
* Main thicknesses used are 1mm to 6mm so the applicant must be comfortable with working on light materials.
* Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise.
