My client is currently looking for a Machinist / Toolmaker to join their small friendly team on a permanent basis. Based in Barrow upon Soar, they supports various sectors in their mechanical engineering and machining requirements, producing one offs, small batches, prototypes, repairs and refurbishments. A strong mechanical engineering background is essential due to the varied work undertaken. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes. Experience to include: * Milling * Turning * Read and interpret engineering drawings * Work to tight tolerances * Carry out own inspection Desirable: * Boring * Surface grinding * Assembly * Welding / Light Fabrication. * Fork Lift Outline of Job Duties: 1. To manufacture high quality components in an efficient manufacture, to drawing specifications with minimum supervision. 2. Use engineering knowledge to reverse engineer and find solutions to solve engineering problems. 3. Quality check own work to ensure high quality parts are manufactured. 4. Contribute to the housekeeping of the workshops, maintaining tidy and clean work areas. 5. Work in an ethical and professional manner at all times as a representative of the company. 6.
