Long O Donnell are a leading consultancy operating across the UK and Ireland, specialising in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects. With a growing portfolio and a long-term commitment to driving sustainable and smart infrastructure, we are expanding our delivery team. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive NEC contract experience to lead a high-profile infrastructure project. This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to contribute to strategic contract delivery and play a key role in the expansion of our NEC contract management capability across major projects.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Project Manager to join the team on a 12-month contract to manage the design deliverables for a major construction of a new 275kV substation at Port Talbot in South Wales. This substation is part of a larger project to provide new electricity supplies.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead the design development process during pre-construction (including Development and Consenting processes).
* Produce all required project design documentation, demonstrating the implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
* Develop, implement, and manage project delivery, design, safety by design requirements.
* Support the consenting, type registration, cost estimation, programme risk mitigation and innovation activities.
* Enact the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principle Designer or arrange for the provision of Principle Designer for each project as required under CDM Regulations
* Monitor Contractor site activities to ensure compliance with SHES standards, Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and CDM regulations
* Maintain full authorisation to carry out duties.
* Undertake additional duties to support project as delegated by the Senior Project Manager.
Candidate requirements:
* Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply
* Working knowledge and application of CDM and safety in design
* Demonstrable experience of leading cross discipline teams
* Demonstrable experience of problem solving and an appetite for continuous improvement
* Experience working within the utilities sector
* 5+ years of experience in project management
* Full right to work in the UK without the requirement for sponsorship
