Cover Supervisor – Shaftesbury
Contract: Full-time / Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
A well-respected secondary school in Shaftesbury is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join their supportive and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and keen to gain valuable classroom experience within a positive and well-established school environment.
The Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absence. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans
* Creating and maintaining a calm, focused and productive learning environment
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Supporting pupils to stay on task and engage with their learning
* Assisting with additional duties when not required to cover lessons
The Ideal Candidate
* Has a genuine interest in supporting young people and education
* Is confident, adaptable and able to manage a classroom effectively
* Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Is flexible and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups
* Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
Requirements
* Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
* A valid Child only Enhanced DBS certificate is required, or willingness to obtain one in line with safeguarding and DfE guidance
