Description As a Advanced Areothermal Engineer at Honeywell, in Yeovil, you will be responsible for design, developing and analysing aircraft control subsystems. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office 2 days work from home model. We are looking for an Advanced Systems Engineer with a mechanical design background in CAD (NX preferred but not essential) and demonstrated experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for aerodynamics (StarCCM or Fluent preferred). The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience in technology development maturation through TRL levels and be familiar with test standards such as RTCA DO-160G. You will join our cross-functional, multidisciplinary team to work on technology development, from initial concepts up to prototypes and flight demonstrators – progressing technologies of the future through the TRLs. modelling and simulations, and performance assessments for integrated power electronics subsystems, batteries, and motors. Key responsibilities Design, develop, and analyse aircraft control subsystems for thermal management, electro-mechanical systems, power electronics, batteries, motor cooling, avionics, etc. Utilize CFD tools to analyse aerodynamic performance and optimize designs for aircraft systems. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts on architecture definition, systems, and component engineering, providing system-level guidance, defining trade-off studies, and participating in system modelling and analyses. Define and plan system development, including sub-systems and components breakdown. Work closely with project managers and other departments to provide support. Qualifications M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering domain. 2-5 years of multidisciplinary engineering experience. Proficient command of the English language.
