The Assembly Technician will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week.
The salary for this role is up to £27k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing
Working in a multi-skilled production team you will be responsible for providing assembly and machining support to Production and Engineering teams. Working closely with the Wiring Technicians, Test Technicians and Engineers to make sure our products are delivered to customers on time and with the highest quality standards.
Training support for company apprentices to gain experience with machine tools, developing the individuals’ skills, promoting shop H&S and instilling good housekeeping culture.

Someone who has previous experience working within a skilled assembly technician, mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical role.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly instruction guides, and electronic schematics.
You will be able to follow these instructions to create a full assembly using a mix of electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
Experience in hand soldering; polymer moulding processes; component handling and identification; wire size and type identification would be useful.
Competency in the use of measurement equipment e.g., volt meters, continuity testers, force gauges, micrometers, verniers and oscilloscopes.
Ideally you will have completed a relevant engineering or technical apprenticeship, have an NVQ Level 3 or have significant experience in a relevant role.Join us and be part of something smaller - with 500 people in the UK and Canada - doing something bigger: protecting what matters.
