The Role
We’re looking for an Admin Manager to join our dynamic clinical operations team. This is a key leadership role overseeing all administrative aspects of clinical trial delivery across multiple Clerkenwell sites.
As Admin Manager, you’ll coordinate patient scheduling, site logistics, recruitment support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical studies. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of compliance, documentation, and patient care in line with ICH-GCP, MHRA, and Clerkenwell’s internal SOPs.
What will the role entail?
* Leading administrative operations and supporting study delivery across multiple clinical trial sites
* Managing patient scheduling systems, visit planning, and site capacity utilisation
* Providing line management, mentorship, and oversight to the Clinical Trial Administrator (CTA) team
* Overseeing patient reimbursements and collaborating with Finance on budget management
* Supporting therapists and site staff with diary management and study coordination
* Ensuring inspection-readiness of trial documentation and administrative trackers
* Coordinating patient recruitment processes, pre-screening, and communications
* Acting as deputy for the Site Manager/Director where needed and representing the admin function in sponsor meetings
* Supervising vendors, facilities support, supplies, and onboarding for new staff
* Leading audit preparation and supporting internal quality improvement initiatives
* Delivering training and supporting professional development for admin staff
What will you need to succeed?
* Proven experience managing and leading a team or department, ideally in a clinical or research setting
* Educated to at least GCSE/A level (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICH-GCP, and clinical governance
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and database systems
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* A proactive, methodical, and team-oriented approach
* Demonstrated experience working with confidential data and GDPR compliance
* Ability to handle competing priorities with flexibility and professionalism
