Job Description
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington – 3 Days On site
Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time
The Role
This is a contract role expected to last between 6 – 12 months with the successful candidate will be designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
* Generate engineering drawings
* Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, bolted joint.
* Preparation of engineering design reports
* Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities
* Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
* Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
* Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
* Proficiency in NX software.
* Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
* Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping and structures would be helpful but not essential.
* Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter
