CT Senior Radiographer

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an experienced radiographer to join our friendly CT team, working across Newark and King's Mill sites.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous CT experience who is looking to further develop their skills. We offer comprehensive training and development, with exposure to a wide range of examinations including Emergency Department, Inpatients and Outpatients.
Our Trust currently operates five GE CT scanners, with services running seven days a week and extended hours. Three scanners are at Kings Mill, one at Newark and one at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Mansfield Community Hospital which opened in April 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform high‑quality X‑ray examinations in accordance with IRR17, IR(ME)R17 and local rules.
* Communicate effectively with patients, staff and external MDT teams to ensure excellent patient care and service efficiency.
* Maintain a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation.
Working Pattern:
* Includes shifts, weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
* Cross‑site working and scanner rotation are required.
Candidates must have previous NHS experience and be able to travel between sites.
Not all of our roles are eligible for visa sponsorship.

Home Office guidance has changed as of 9th April. Anyone that requires switching visa type may not be eligible for sponsorship even if the role is on the shortage occupation list.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Underpinning theory and professional knowledge acquired through diploma or degree.
* Specialist expertise, underpinned by theory and practical experience acquired through diploma, degree or postgraduate study.
Qualifications
* DCR R or BSc(Hons) Radiography Postgraduate qualification in CT.
Further Training
* Trained to perform IV injections.
* Ability to reconstruct images.
Experience
* Previous radiology experience – may be supplemented by short courses and CPD.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Supervisory experience.
* Teaching skills.
* Significant experience of working at band 5 level in a department rotating into CT department.
Contractual Requirements
* Extended days, weekends and bank holiday.
* Ability to drive between sites.
