Software Quality Assurance Engineer £45,000 – £65,000 Hybrid, 3 days on-site – Manchester, Stevenage or Harwell My client is a leading organisation within advanced space systems and technology, supporting major European missions and delivering innovative software for satellite communications and exploration. As their UK footprint expands, they are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to uphold high standards of quality across multiple mission-critical software projects. Key Responsibilities * Manage Software Quality Assurance across full project lifecycles and multiple programmes * Verify that software meets required quality standards and stakeholder needs * Define and maintain quality procedures, standards and templates for software products * Support implementation of Software Product Assurance Plans and quality-driven processes * Promote a strong quality culture across engineering teams and ensure adherence to standards * Support quality-related activities such as static analysis, automated verification, reporting of code quality metrics and coverage levels * Contribute to continuous improvement, internal audits, lessons learned and QMS initiatives * Present and negotiate software quality approaches with internal stakeholders and customers What They’re Looking For * Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar * 5 years’ experience in regulated software environments such as spaceflight, aerospace or automotive * Strong knowledge of software verification, unit testing techniques and automated quality reporting * Experience applying code quality metrics and tooling in engineering teams * Ability to write standards, guidelines and documentation, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences Experience with ECSS/NASA or DO-178/DO-254 standards, Python, GitLab/Jenkins/SonarQube and automated compliance checking is a strong plus.
