About the Role
Senior Procurement Manager - Technology the successful Buyerwill be responsible for reviewing, approving and reporting on operational buying activities, ensuring alignment with Tarmac Buying Policy. The Buyer is required to manage procurement compliance and engage with a range of stakeholders across operational and functional teams. You will undertake the delivery of tactical sourcing activity for local business spend opportunities in Tarmac aligning with procurement category strategies for Tarmac and CRH.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Buyerwill be carrying out a range of activities which will include supporting for sourcing requirements and contract compliance. Furthermore, your role will comprise of the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive)
Managing transactional buying desk activities and supporting wider strategic category management
Approving and reviewing purchase requisitions
Working on the management of supplier accreditation
Supporting local category sourcing that continuously improves suppliers’ and contractors’ compliance with Safety, Health & Environment and Corporate & Social Responsibility standards
Working closely with category managers and business units to establish and deliver procurement requirements
Working on purchase card data & reporting
Ensuring products and services are purchased in the most cost and time-efficient manner, delivering ‘agile’ solutions to implement and ensure purchasing best practices
Evaluating, retendering, renegotiating or extending contracts and suppliers in order to facilitate tactical and strategic sourcing with relevant stakeholders
Deliver additional value to Tarmac operational buying activities
Monitoring and challenging non-compliant buying activities
**Please note that this position is for a 12-month fixed-term contract**
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Buyerwho is in possession of the following skills/attributes:
Ideally educated to degree level in a business or technical discipline
Ideally MCIPS qualified.
Experience in tactical/operational buying
Ideally experienced in category management
Experience in multiple industry sectors considered a plusWhy Tarmac?
