Your new role
Working closely with Finance & Operations, you will lead the finance function, producing accurate and timely financial information to support the school's strategic and operational goals. You will also have the opportunity to manage a small finance team whilst working closely with both support and academic staff.This role offers a varied and rewarding role; some of the key duties will be:
1. Lead month‑end processes and produce management accounts
2. Maintain strong financial controls and oversee reconciliations
3. Manage cashflow, banking, treasury and debtor control
4. Support budgeting, forecasting and cost management
5. Oversee payroll processes, staff benefits and financial HR data
6. Prepare audit files and support year‑end and statutory accounts
7. Drive process improvements across the finance function
8. Lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team
What you'll need to succeed
The right individual for this role would be someone who thrives in a varied role, enjoys working with a wide selection of people and values really making a difference within an organisation. Some of the key things we require:
9. Fully Qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
10. Understanding of accounting within public or third party organisations
11. Experience within the education sector – Independent school sector desirable
12. Advanced Excel & strong systems capability
13. Experienced of producing detailed financial reports
14. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach
15. Confidentmunicator able to work with non-finance colleagues
