We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition to students in the Gateshead (NE8) area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting learners in developing essential English and Maths skills for everyday life, education, and employment.
The Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will:
* Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills (English and/or Maths)
* Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual learner needs
* Support students in building confidence and improving core skills
* Track progress and adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities and learning styles
* Prepare learners for Functional Skills assessments where required
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
* Have experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills, English, or Maths
* Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills
* Be able to plan and deliver structured, engaging sessions
* Be patient, adaptable, and supportive in your approach
* Hold relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
