Job Title: Urology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist
Manage a caseload of urology patients with autonomy and confidence.
Provide specialised care, using advanced communication skills to support patients through their treatment journey.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The Urology Oncology clinical nurse specialists are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex, potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
Continuously develop knowledge and practice to improve patient experience and satisfaction, and contribute to the development of Urological services utilizing a quality improvement approach.
The role of the Macmillan Uro Oncology clinical nurse specialist is central to promoting people's equality, diversity, and rights. It involves assessing and addressing complex health and wellbeing needs, delivering holistic needs assessments, and leading others in developing knowledge, ideas, and work practices.
Assist in developing audit and research programmes related to the Urology Service, actively participate in these programmes, and utilise and disseminate findings both locally and nationally.
