Overview
Porter Installer, Customer Delivery Hub at John Lewis & Partners. This is a temporary, non‑driver role within a 2‑person delivery crew, focusing on high‑quality customer service, product assembly and installation in customers' homes.
Base pay range
This range is provided by John Lewis & Partners. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Key responsibilities
* Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
* Help load up the delivery vehicle with the day’s deliveries, working with the warehouse team.
* Demonstrate respect and courtesy for the customer’s home and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution.
* Install products efficiently and explain how they work once installed.
* Keep up to date with new products and technologies to perform at your best.
* Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in customers’ homes.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting and delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses.
Essential skills/experience
* Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous customer service experience.
* Installation and disconnection of white goods.
* TV installation.
* Flat-pack assembly.
