Project types you may work on:
* Energy generation projects, including carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and renewables such as large‑scale solar and floating offshore wind
* Energy distribution and transmission projects, including Great Grid Upgrade initiatives
* Carbon capture pipelines
* Strategic national and regional rail projects
* Highway improvements and greenway projects
* Regeneration projects, including port‑side developments
* Developments within e‑commerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential and industrial sectors
Responsibilities
* Coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/ Environmental Statements, and future Environmental Outcomes Reports, including technical review of specialist chapters.
* Work through all project life stages – from early strategy development and site identification, through feasibility, design, construction and operation – across multiple consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, Hybrid Bill, etc.).
* Ensure deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards.
* Develop project management skills by coordinating resources and budgets.
* Collaborate with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identify constraints, and propose mitigation and benefit‑delivery solutions.
* Maintain direct contact with clients and internal supply teams.
* Promote AECOM’s environmental services, support business‑development opportunities and associated proposals.
Qualifications
* A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Masters preferred) and an appropriate professional membership.
* EIA consultancy experience, including coordination of environmental reports and technical review of specialist chapters.
* Developing understanding of consenting regimes relevant to the role.
* Ability to work collaboratively within an established team and coordinate specialist inputs.
* Developing project‑management skills, including programming and budget management.
* Commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
* Experience with DCO and/or TWAO consenting regimes is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong verbal and report‑writing skills, confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders.
