Driver Trainer – Hubs
Please note that this role is fixed term for 6 months.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Driver Assessor to deliver high-quality training, assessments, and development across our Hub operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring both new and existing drivers are compliant with UK legislation while promoting safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the transport network.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver driver training and assessments, including: Inductions Shunter and banksman training Double deck operations Telematics coaching
2. Maintain high compliance standards, including auditing and quality checking documentation
3. Coach and support drivers across the UK network to drive continuous improvement
4. Maintain and audit driver files, ensuring all legal and training records are up to date
5. Conduct driver and fleet checks and monitor KPIs
6. Address non-compliance through coaching and corrective actions
7. Collaborate with Operations, Agencies, Fleet, and L&D teams
8. Deliver training on new equipment and operational practices
9. Support incident and accident investigations
10. Assist with site start-ups, providing driver training support
11. Promote continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and service performance
12. Ensure all training aligns with legislation and company policies
13. Conduct compliance audits and site risk assessments
14. Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
15. Full Cat C+E (articulated) LGV driving licence (essential)
Knowledge & Experience
16. Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Logistics / Transport industry
17. Proven experience delivering driver training and assessments in a fast-paced environment
18. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport systems
Technical & People Skills
19. In-depth knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
20. Understanding of Working Time and Road Transport Directive
21. Excellent presentation and coaching skills
22. Ability to deliver engaging face-to-face training sessions
23. Strong attention to detail and compliance focus

24. Ability to drive continuous improvement collaboratively
25. Experience improving performance across cost, service, compliance, and safety
26. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
27. Ability to create and improve Safe Systems of Work
