This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join one of Northern Ireland's most recognisable public sector employers. The Commercial Finance Accountant will be a key member of the Business Appraisals team, which is responsible for undertaking financial & commercial due diligence on prospective investment projects and providing an independent challenge function and advice within the agency. The role will give you the opportunity to be involved in stimulating and challenging work across a range of sectors, while maintaining the work/life balance. You will be working with a range of indigenous and international companies seeking to expand and grow their businesses. If successful in this process, you will be a key member of the team responsible for assisting Northern Ireland businesses grow, compete internationally, and to attract new foreign direct investment to NI. This is a rewarding role with the ability to provide high levels of personal satisfactions and to make a positive contribution to the local economy. About you A fully qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 year's PQE, having completed the professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the bodies listed below: a) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants b) Chartered Institute of Management Accountants c) Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy d) Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales e) Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland f) Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland Recent relevant commercial finance experience, which should include all of the following: Experience in leading financial due diligence/ appraisal assignments Assessing and critiquing business plans and advising companies/management Working with multidisciplinary teams Providing practical financial and commercial advice relating to complex transactions Ability to use evidence-based analysis and insights to influence decision making or senior management Ability to proactively manage and prioritise work and coordinate with others to deliver a range of quality outputs against challenging deadlines Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders at senior management level, demonstrating effective communication, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills Possess a full current driving licence and access to a motor vehicle. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applications who have a disability and cannot hold a driving licence. Applicants must be willing to travel internationally on occasions to complete work. What you'll do Completing due diligence and financial appraisals of business plans and applications for government support Provision of a wide range of financial and general commercial advice to client managers in relation to investments and interactions with client companies. Provision of specialist financial, accounting and commercial advice in relation to internally and externally focused projects. Presenting reports and findings to investment panels and inputting to the decision-making process. Reviewing and quality control of projects being completed by the panel of external consultants who assist the Business Appraisal team in the delivery of their work. Willing to take on key roles in continuous improvement and other agency wide projects being undertaken as required.
