The Opportunity
A leading ground investigation contractor is looking to appoint a Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing Inverness team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a hands-on role and wants to be heavily involved in the delivery of site investigations across a wide range of infrastructure, renewable energy, commercial and residential projects throughout Scotland.
This position offers a balance of site supervision, project management and technical reporting, with opportunities to progress into senior and management-level positions.
Responsibilities
Managing and delivering ground investigation projects from mobilisation through to completion.
Supervising drilling rigs, trial pitting operations and site investigation works.
Logging soil and rock samples to current industry standards.
Scheduling fieldwork and coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
Undertaking site inspections and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
Interpreting ground investigation data and preparing factual reports.
Liaising with clients, contractors and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Managing project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
Supporting junior engineers and site technicians.
Requirements
Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience within ground investigation, site investigation or geotechnical contracting.
Strong understanding of drilling techniques, sampling and site operations.
Experience supervising site works and managing projects.
Good report writing and data interpretation skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.
CSCS card preferred.
