Position: Terminal Operator Location: Canvey Island Band: F Join the vibrant and dynamic team at Calor Gas as an LPG Terminal Operator at our Canvey Terminal. In this role, you will play a crucial part in operating process plant and equipment, ensuring the safe unloading of ships, storage of Liquified Propane Gas (LPG), and the efficient export of LPG via road tankers, ship reloading, and the Coryton pipeline system. Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge: Practical abilities with knowledge of process operations and experience working with cryogenic plant & equipment. Technical process knowledge related to safety aspects of an upper tier COMAH site. Ability to respond appropriately to abnormal or emergency situations. Sound understanding of Calor's operational policies, procedures, and safe working practices. Self-help approach to work-related problems. Use of IT and IS systems for day-to-day duties. Minimum education requirement: GCSE Grade C or equivalent (including Maths & English). ONC or City & Guilds (or equivalent) would be desirable. Key Responsibilities: Undertake a range of duties on the LPG plant, including routine low-level maintenance, inspection, workplace audits, and site isolations. Record and log plant operations, safety system overrides, and defects. Ensure clear and concise handover of essential/complex information. Be proactive in site operations and maintenance, communicating with the Shift Lead to support satisfactory completion and maintain performance targets. Undertake process isolations to support safe setting to work, acting as the site contact under the terminal's Safe System of Work. Provide a supporting role in the event of a site emergency, ensuring the safety of self and others. Contribute to the development, review, and update of emergency, security, safety, and operational plans, procedures, and risk assessments. Work in a 24/7, 365 days a week operation, following shift patterns. Work in all weather conditions, at height over land and water.
