Riverwalk School, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3JZ £12.41 per hour Monday - Friday (part-time requests may be considered), 8.45am – 3.15pm 1 hour Training (Monday after school) and ½ hour Team Meeting (Thursday after school) (½ hour unpaid lunch) 31.50 per week Part Time Permanent Reference: 7321 Required as soon as possible We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants who are motivated and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. As part of a class-based team you will need to be enthusiastic and creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school. You will certainly get your steps in as our site is quite expansive! You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND and complex behavioural needs. What we offer: Comprehensive staff induction program Full support and training from a wider team Wide range of staff benefits Extensive Wellbeing support package Opportunity for career progression within the Trust Personalised performance management Bespoke training programme We are looking for Teaching Assistants who: have some knowledge about SEND passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties provide a good role model for students and fellow colleagues be prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs, have strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques are essential support each pupil to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs support tasks relating to ‘real life’ experiences passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils able to adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines able to maintain confidentiality have a desire to participate in school and Trust CPD opportunities have an awareness of Safeguarding willingness to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.
