Quantity Surveyor - Refurb & Conservation | Central London (a stones throw from Charing X) For anyone who’s realised “existing conditions” usually means brace yourself. Hands-on QS role with full commercial responsibility - valuations, variations, budgets, final accounts. No hiding behind spreadsheets… although there will still be plenty of those. Projects are refurbishment / conservation led - listed buildings, mansion blocks (S20), high-spec commercial. £150k–£2m on paper, usually a bit more once the building has its say. Expect: • Tight access • Live sites • Drawings that are more of a suggestion • And uncovering things no one priced for (but everyone’s now very interested in) Clients include CBRE, BNP, Cushman - so it’s well run, but not immune to the usual fun. They’re after an intermediate–senior QS who’s commercially sharp but also knows how things actually get built. Trade background helps — someone who won’t panic at a scaffold ladder and can count bricks without turning it into a desktop exercise. Refurb/conservation experience useful, but not essential.
