Job Opportunity: Clinical Teaching Fellow
We are offering a highly attractive fixed-term Clinical Teaching Fellow post from 06/08/2025 to 05/08/2026. This role provides unique training opportunities, including involvement in the development and delivery of NHS GG&C's simulation and skills-based teaching programs for undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Responsibilities include ALS, simulation-based teaching (Medical Emergencies, procedural skills, recognition and management of the sick patient), and contributions to the foundation program curriculum on hospital sites and training days. The post also involves case-based learning sessions at the University of Glasgow, OSCE development, and examination.
Post holders will work as part of a team of NHSL Clinical Teaching Fellows, primarily attached to one hospital. They will attend regular meetings to review educational outcomes, support peers, and develop educational activities. Additional responsibilities include departmental research, participation in medical education conferences, and the opportunity to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education with paid time during working hours (up to 1 session).
Additional Responsibilities
* Participation in the resident on-call psychiatric rota for mental health inpatient sites.
* Maintenance and development of clinical skills through weekly clinical sessions, arranged based on previous experience and career goals.
* Compliance with supervisory and assessment processes for clinical and teaching activities.
This position is particularly suitable for trainees holding a NTN as an Out of Programme Experience, but consideration will also be given to those seeking a LAS contract.
