Akkodis is establishing a pioneering IT & Digital Centre of Excellence (CoE), designed to drive transformative technology programmes across the UK. This dynamic new team will play a key role in delivering large-scale digital, cloud, software, and infrastructure projects, supporting both public and private sector clients. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships, and innovative SaaS-based solutions, the CoE will enhance digital capabilities, future-proof workforces, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Joining our CoE presents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of major national initiatives, working within a high-impact, collaborative environment. Our diverse roles span architecture, project management, data analytics, software development, and technical support—empowering professionals to shape scalable, next-generation digital ecosystems. Whether delivering sophisticated Big Data platforms, cloud solutions, or advanced infrastructure, our teams will drive innovation and digital excellence across multiple programmes.

Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Planning Manager to support the Programme Manager and the wider consortium delivering a programme. You will work across multiple partner organisations and the Authority to identify interdependencies, manage risks and issues, and drive re-planning activities in Jira and MS Project.

You will help develop and maintain the programme roadmap, support workstream planning, and facilitate workshops and governance activities. The role requires strong Agile awareness, proven risk management and programme planning experience, and the ability to operate confidently in a high-stakes, security-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

* Lead the programme-wide risk and issue management process, maintaining risk registers, issue logs, ownership, mitigation actions, and escalation pathways.
* Identify and manage interdependencies across consortium partners and the Authority; maintain an up-to-date interdependency register and alignment plan.
* Re-plan and update schedules and baselines in Jira and MS Project based on risk and issue identification; support timely re-planning cycles.
* Support Project Managers with workstream level planning, progress tracking, dashboards, and reporting; ensure alignment with the programme roadmap.
* Collaborate with the Programme Manager to develop and maintain the programme roadmap; assist with scenario planning and prioritisation.
* Facilitate and run workshops, working sessions, and Steering/Programme Board meetings, capture outcomes, actions, and decisions.
* Ensure governance and assurance activities are supported with accurate data, clear MI, and timely reporting to senior stakeholders.
* Promote Agile ways of working within the programme; coach and mentor teams on risk-aware planning and iterative delivery.
* Produce high-quality management information, status reports, and exception reports for governance forums.
* Drive continuous improvement by developing templates, playbooks, and standard approaches for risk, planning, and scheduling.
* Ensure information security, data integrity, and compliance with safeguarding and IA requirements as applicable.

Required experience

* Proven experience in risk management and programme planning within large, multi-partner or public sector programmes.
* Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to apply Agile principles in complex environments.
* Demonstrated ability to run workshops and facilitation sessions with diverse stakeholder groups.
* Proficiency with Jira and MS Project (or equivalent scheduling tools); ability to model dependencies and re-plan effectively.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
