Join to apply for the Volunteer Trustee | Cambridge Money Advice Centre role at Cambridge Money Advice Centre
Cambridge Money Advice Centre was founded in 2004 as a practical Christian response to the growing problem of debt in our city and county. Join our Trustee Board and help transform the lives of people struggling with unmanageable debt.
What difference will you make?
As a member of a small Trustee team, you will contribute significantly to ensuring that CMAC continues to transform lives. Your work provides the framework for our quality service, ensuring advisers and funders have confidence in our policies and procedures. Our clients' stories, such as one client’s gratitude for our help, highlight the impact of our work. Joining us will be rewarding, as you see the direct difference your efforts make. We are part of the Community Money Advice (CMA) network, which supports us with guidance, training, and annual conferences.
What are we looking for?
No prior trustee experience or sector-specific knowledge is required. We seek individuals with:
* Significant volunteering or managerial experience
* Participation in charitable/not-for-profit organizations
* Skills in legal, fundraising, marketing, social media, or website management
* A passion for helping people out of debt and empathy for clients' situations
We will provide additional training for first-time trustees. We aim to recruit multiple trustees to cover diverse skills.
What will you be doing?
Our trustees support CMAC's strategic direction and governance, attend quarterly meetings, and contribute to policies, fundraising, and operational decisions. Tasks may include reviewing budgets, editing communications, or preparing reports. The estimated time commitment is about one day per month, with responsibilities such as fundraising, safeguarding, or health and safety leadership.
We are looking for trustees willing to be hands-on and support areas like fundraising, social media, website management, safeguarding, or health and safety. The full activities are detailed in our annual report on our website.
