Job Description
Join the thriving and dynamic United Living Infrastructure Services team in Washington! As a rapidly growing business, we are excited to welcome a new Water Service & Mains Laying Teams Operative to contribute to our success. If you're looking for a long-term career opportunity with a Main Contractor, where you can develop your skills and be part of an industry-leading organisation, this role is for you.
Purpose:
To be responsible for the installation of mains and services to required standards.
Responsibilities:
5. Maintain own and others health and safety
6. Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
7. Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
8. Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
9. Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
10. Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards.
11. Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
12. Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
13. Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
14. Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard
15. Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
16. Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
17. Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
18. Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision
Qualifications
19. NRSWA (Units 1-3 minimum)
20. CSCS card
21. Cat & Genny
22. 360 operators ticket
23. Dumper operators ticket
24. Current clean driving licence
