Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
* Work within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, guiding practice within an education setting and clarifying roles and responsibilities.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload, with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required, including providing support and guidance to other team members.
* Maintain a person‑centred, empowering approach, ensuring pupils are heard, respected and involved in decisions affecting them.
* Support the safeguarding culture and promote the welfare of pupils and young people.
Qualifications
* Acorn Education brand recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
* Relevant experience providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting, preferably with children and young people aged 10‑17.
* Experience working with neurodivergent and/or learning difficulty and/or socio‑emotional and mental health difficulties in any setting, with evidence of transferable skills.
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence.
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently, with clear and concise report writing skills.
* Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferable, but not essential).
