Management Accountant
6-Month Contract (Full-Time / Part-Time Considered)
Location: Lancaster
Salary: circa £35,000- £50,000 DOE/ hours
Due to continued growth, a well-established company in Lancaster is looking for a Management Accountant to join their Finance Team on an initial 6-month contract. This role is full-time, however the company is also open to considering part-time arrangements for more senior candidates seeking flexibility.
As a key member of the Finance Team, you will support the management team with financial reporting and contribute to daily accounting processes. You'll work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, helping to ensure accurate and timely management accounts while improving current processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the production of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, journals)
* Support projects to improve finance processes and ways of working
* Provide cover across the wider Finance function during absences
* Assist with monthly P&L analysis and bank reconciliations
* Close month-end Purchase and Nominal Ledgers
* Prepare BACS payments, foreign currency payments, credit card, mileage and expense payments and analysis
* Maintain the fixed asset register
* Prepare quarterly VAT returns
* Support the statutory audit process
Person Specification
* Ideally AAT/ CIMA/ ACCA qualified with experience in a similar role
* Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Positive, can do attitude
* Friendly, personable and adaptable
* Keen to learn and contribute to the wider finance function
* Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel
