Role Overview:
As our Domiciliary Optical Services Manager, you'll take charge of day-to-day operations, managing a team of optometrists, appointment setters, optical assistants and delivery drivers. You'll be the link between patients, care homes, the lab, and our head office – ensuring everything runs like clockwork while upholding NHS standards and putting patients first.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily running of domiciliary services across assigned areas
* Manage scheduling, staff coordination, and patient appointment logistics
* Ensure full compliance with NHS GOS and safeguarding protocols
* Train, support, and review performance of optometrists and field staff
* Act as the main point of contact for care homes and nursing homes
* Monitor stock, lab orders, and turnaround times
* Handle complaints and ensure high levels of patient satisfaction
* Prepare regular reports for senior management
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in optical, domiciliary, or healthcare service management
* Working knowledge of NHS GOS regulations (preferred not essential)
* Excellent team leadership, organisation, and communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling/CRM tools
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
