1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Behaviour Support Location: Primary School in Accrington Start Date: May 2026 Contract: Agency | Long-term / Ongoing Hours: Full-time & Part-time available Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience) The Role We are currently recruiting 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs within welcoming primary school settings. These roles involve working closely with individual pupils who require consistent, structured support to access learning and manage behaviour positively. This role is ideal for someone experienced, resilient and passionate about helping children succeed in school. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, including behavioural and emotional needs Support pupils to engage in learning and follow classroom routines Implement behaviour support strategies and positive reinforcement Assist pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation and independence Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and inclusion teams Support pupils during transitions, breaks and unstructured times Record progress and behaviour, feeding back to school staff Maintain a safe, calm and supportive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Has experience supporting children with behavioural needs, SEN or SEMH Is calm, patient, nurturing and confident managing behaviour Understands de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour management Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils Works well as part of a team and follows school policies Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential Why Work With Us Access to a variety of primary school placements Flexible work options to suit your availability Ongoing training and professional development Support from a dedicated education agency team Opportunity to secure permanent roles through agency placements Safeguarding All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
