About the Firm
An established and growing accountancy and advisory practice is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Adviser to join its expanding tax team. The firm provides high‑quality tax and advisory services to private clients and owner‑managed businesses, with growth, technical excellence and client outcomes at the core of its approach.
The role offers the opportunity to work from modern offices in either in the Midlands or Leeds, within a collaborative and supportive environment that values professional development and technical depth.
The Role
This position focuses primarily on personal tax planning and structuring projects, including Inheritance Tax planning, the use of trusts, Family Investment Companies and bespoke succession solutions. You will take responsibility for overseeing complex tax projects from inception through to completion, ensuring technical accuracy, effective delivery and a high standard of client service.
You will also play a key role in reviewing work completed by other members of the tax team, mentoring junior advisers and contributing to the ongoing development of the firm’s tax offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and contribute to the preparation of detailed project plans for tax restructuring and planning assignments
* Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of tax projects, including instructing solicitors, coordinating filings and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders
* Prepare step plans and comprehensive tax analyses, clearly documenting tax implications with reference to relevant legislation and case law
* Review tax projects undertaken by Tax Advisers and Junior Tax Advisers, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and best‑practice standards
* Review HMRC clearance applications and supporting documentation
* Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear, confident and strategic tax advice
* Deliver work on time and within agreed budgets, meeting internal and statutory deadlines
* Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced client outcomes
* Support, coach and mentor junior team members, helping to develop technical capability across the team
* Participate in 1‑to‑1 meetings and performance reviews alongside the Team Manager
* Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge through ongoing CPD and training
* Contribute to revenue growth and cost efficiency in line with business objectives

* High level of technical expertise across direct taxes, including:
* Inheritance Tax
* Capital Gains Tax
* Income Tax
* Corporation Tax
* Stamp taxes
* Employment taxes
* Experience advising on complex tax restructuring and planning matters
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise clients at all levels
* Strong attention to detail and a structured, process‑driven approach
* Ability to research and advise on complex technical matters beyond routine transactions
* Proven commitment to delivering high‑quality client service
* CTA qualified or equivalent
